"JATOS isn't allowed to run a study with the study result ID ____"
Hello,
I am currently conducting an experiment online where participants have to complete a side-by-side size comparison task between two circles.
I designed the experiment on OpenSesame (back-end setting: Legacy, possible subject numers 0,1; unchecked "Make browser fullscreen"; version 1.3.3.0) and uploaded it on JATOS successfully.
When I and my friends run the test, everything runs perfectly fine.
However, when participants use the link, there seems to be some re-occurring issues. (Note: link generated via General Multiple Worker)
- Issue 1: The data only shows/seems to record only up to 116 or 118 trials out of 120 trials.
- Issue 2: Half of my participants have informed me that they saw a sign at the end (or in the middle of the experiment) saying "JATOS isn't allowed to run a study with the study result ID ____." It's weird because data is still saved but only until 116 or 118 trials. I thought the program automatically assigns a new study result ID every time a link is open so I am not sure why this is occurring.
This person from JATOS Google forum has recommended me to update OpenSesame to 1.3.6. version (which I will definitely do) but also, pointed out that this might happen if participants get stuck during the experiment and they refresh the page. However, he recommended me to consult OSWeb forum as the issue mainly lies in OSWeb. So I guess my question is, what should the participants do when they get "stuck" and how do I prevent from the experiment from getting "stuck".
