Non-parametric correlations- Bayes equivalents

edited March 2016 in JASP & BayesFactor

Hi All,

I have been running a number of Spearman's correlations (due to non-normal distributed data) and am now looking to run Bayesian equivalents. I've not been able to find one- is anyone aware of such a thing? If not, then is the Bayesian Pearson correlation suitable for use on non-normally distributed data?

Additionally, I have been using a Matlab function to turn r values into BFs (Sam Shwartzkopf's code), but assume this shouldn't be used to convert rs values to BFs?

Any assistance would be really appreciated.
Many thanks,
Leah

    Hi Leah,

These nonparametric tests are currently undergoing development. Johnny van Doorn, a PhD student in the JASP group, has submitted one paper (on Bayesian Kendall's tau) and is working on another. I'll see whether we can put the paper on ArXiv. It might take a while before it's available in JASP, but that's the goal.

    Cheers,
    E.J.

Thanks EJ. Would be great if you could upload the paper.
    Many thanks,
    Leah

  • We are about to submit the revision. We will post the paper as soon as it's accepted.
