Working Memory Task

Hello !

I'm having troubles creating a working memory task.

The goal is to design a 3x3 grid which has a random letter on each. The participant will be then asked to remember the location of the random letter. After I would like the participant to select where on the grid the random letter appeared.

The picture attached it what I have thus far.

  • Hi Matt,
You are going to have to be more specific, which part of your task would you like help with?

  • Hello: I've made the 3x3 grid, however, when I display the letters on the grid they are all the same. I want the letters to be randomized and I'm not sure how to do so.

  • Still not specific enough. How did you randomize? What is the overall structure of your experiment?
At this point we can only guess. To me it sounds as if you are only doing one randomization to pick one letter per trial and use this letter for all stimuli in that trial. However, without knowing what exactly you did, I can hardly suggest a fix.
