Calculating logBF10 on Jasp

Hi there. I have a BF10=7.432e+6 and I was thinking about using the log(BF10) to report to make things less unwieldy. When I click the logBF on Jasp, I get a log BF=15.82. However, when I double checked this on a calculator by taking the log of 7.432e+6, I obtained a value of 6.87. Is getting the log BF as simple as taking the log of the BFs or have I misunderstood something?

Thanks!

  • Your calculator takes log to mean log10 (base 10), whereas we use "log" in R, which means "ln" (the natural logarithm with base e).
