Hello Sebastiaan, I have reinstalled OpenSesame but the problem is still present, exactly the same error message and description as in the previous attachment ... Gérard

Positive feedback about your updates I am in the process of reviewing my experiments in order to comply with the requirements of version 4. The possibility to re-initialize the default backend facilitates the adaptation. It implies some minor change…

Hello Sebastiaan, All the experiments are affected by that same problem. They make use of many graphics and sounds so I just send you a light one that demonstrates the problem anyway. It is interesting to notice that since I started again some testi…

Hi Sebastiaan, I am in the process of reusing under version 4 some experiments that were created with version 3 and I notice that I cannot access the backend parameters through the new interface. In this case, I have to modify the screen number and …

Hi Sebastiaan, Thanks for your fast reply. I am not sure of the changes I have to make. The setup script is attached. Gérard https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/241/B98NQ44J6AQP.png

I am able to manually adapt the general script, for instance change the screen selection, so the problem is mainly a question of interface.

I could shift to the French interface using the preferences menu item but no way to access the back-end parameters. The experiment that I try to run has been designed with the version described in the attachment. https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/348/…

Thank you Sebastiaan, You are right, it works now. I am used to initialize the variables that will be used through the whole program in an inline script at the top of the program. And it is useful for me to keep all those variables together (and not…

THANK YOU ! I guess I should take time to learn Python ... 😊 Gérard

Hi Sebastiaan, Thanks for your fast reply. The value is: num_1 <class 'str'> I learn pieces of Python by analogy according to my needs and I had tested that if I use a letter key, the test works: if var.response_Saisie_4 == "a": va…

Hello, As a complement of information: you are right about the origin of the error. The z-index property was set to 0s, as reported by the error message, in place of just 0. I noticed that it happened another time while replacing an image with anoth…

Hello Fabrice, Thank you for your reply. I finally discovered that the sketchpad which produced the error was obviously damaged (although it was showing correctly) because the problem was solved when I recreated it completely. Thank you for your adv…

Hi Lotje, It all fits together now ! Thank you again for your support. Cheers, Gérard

Hi Lotje, Thank you very much for your fast reply. The program works, thanks to your advise. I understand that when an error message in OS says that "a variable does not exist" (although it is visible in the list of variables), it actually…

Hi Eduard, I could not reproduce the problem (and I am delighted of it ...). My intuition is that, for some reason, there was a mismatch in the mirroring process of OS between the actual folders and the folders of the working area. Thank you for tr…

Hi Lotje and Sebastiaan, Thank you for the quick reply. I don't use OSF (I guess you refer to the Open Science Framework). I have just moved an OpenSesame program from one Windows folder to a newly created folder, renamed it, modified it, adapted th…

Hi Eduard, Your solution works fine, thank you very much for the corrected experiment. Gérard

Hi Eduard, The wave files are OK and they work fine in many other experiments. But it happens that they are correctly loaded when I use the psycho_legacy background and not when I use the psycho background, which is so far my usual background in exp…

Hi Lotje, Thank you for your advise. I understand the mechanism, but my problem is that the "Vrai_n" items will contain a detailed feedback and that I do not want to set a limit of time for reading that text. Have you got an idea about how…

Hi Eduard and Sebastiaan, I cannot download may attachment back (Test.zip). Is it possible or not to attach files in this forum ? What are the possibilities and the rules ? Thank you, Gérard
-
Hello Kayleigh, It is possible to upload the file *.osexp of an experiment if you zip it and attach it to a comment on this forum. The image that you sent is not sufficient to understand the problem. Cheers, Gérard
-
Hello Kayleigh, Uploading your experiment would make it easier to debug. It is not possible with that image. Cheers, Gérard

Hi Sebastiaan, I continue to investigate the problems related to OS with the DELL Optiplex 9020 computer. Apart the question of the clicks in place of sounds, there are also other failures with OpenGL and the Legacy background, for instance. I try t…

Hi Sebastiaan, I have investigated into many directions and explored the trails that you suggested, with no result. I have also discovered that the same problem has already been reported by Charlotte1990 in October 2018. Apparently it has not been s…

Hi Alex and Eduard, Building on Alex's response of December 4, I had the same idea but I found that it does not work in such a simple design. For instance, the feedback item does not accept that value. Going further, I tried a user variable for the …

Hi AlexC98, Do you mean that the delay of 1500 ms is the duration between the beginning of the exposure of the user to a stimulus and the beginning of the exposure to the next one, or the delay between the end of the exposure of a stimulus and the b…

Hi Sebastiaan, You will find attached the two versions of another file that is more typical. The previous file may be indeed confusing because it is very short and may look like a clik by itself. This one is more meaningful to the ear. https://forum…

https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/499/AX6004S2LFZS.zip Hi Sebastiaan, Please note that ALL the audio files that I use (wav and ogg) behave in the same way on that computer, but not on the others. Thank you for your time, Gérard

Hi Sebastiaan (and everyone else), I continue to investigate the origin of the problem of the sounds that are replaced by a click. I discovered that, if I use PsychoPy, the error that I documented in my previous message does not appear. I verified t…

Hi Sebastiaan, I have modified various parameters in OS, including the underlying background package. With PsychoPy, that I use all the time, the only symptom of error is the production of a click in place of a sound. But with Expyriment, the progra…
