crop image

Hi,

I am running an exp that shows moving pictures.
I have a problem that the pictures have a lot of background - all black. I want to show only 200200 pixels (of 800600) on the center.
Can I do it without editing the pictures (it's like 800 pics).

Thanks,
Nachshon

  • Hi Nachshon,
    There are quite a number of options:

    the easiest I think; crop all images in one go before the experiment (windows):
    in picture manager select all the images you want to crop
    then go the 'edit picture' at the top, and crop to desired size, this will be applied to all images.

    (There are also some online tools that can do batch editing, and alternatively you could use some python code to import, edit and export a cropped version of the image, which should not be too complex.)

    frames around widgets:
    osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.1/manual/forms/widgets/image/

    polygon around image (using inline scripts):
    n1 = -300,-300 n2 = -300, 300 n3 = 300, 300 n4 = 300, -300 c.polygon([n1, n2, n3, n4], penwidth = 20, color = 'black')
    this frame does not move with the image, so might not be the best option.

    Hope this helps,
    Roelof
