Cursor jumps to the screen center for each touch response

Hi!

I'm trying to implement a Corsi task on OpenSesame. For the responses I'm using touch responses so I can easily get the program to evaluate whether the response was correct or not. The only problem is that after every click, when the new touch screen appears, the cursor jumps to the middle of the screen. Is there any way I can get it to stay in the position it was before the click?

Thank you!!
Candice

  • Hi Candice,

I'm not sure, but it sounds like somewhere during the initialization of the touch response, there is a line that reset the current position. If you can access the source code on your device, you might be able to change that. The "hard" part is to find it. What is the item with which you are sampling a touch response?

  • Hi Eduard,

I'm not sure I'm tech savvy enough to change the source code :(
I'm using a "touch response" item with a grid (13x8).
Is there any way to change it on the item itself?

    Thank you!

  • Hi! Is there a way I can fix this on the newer version of OpenSesame?

  • Hi Candice,

The problem did not change. I think it is very possible to make it work, but you will have to find the file that initiates the response item. I don't know where it is, and I don't have a tablet, so I can't find out myself. If you find the files, I can advice you what to change about them.
