Randomizing sampler playback

Hi there,

I'm currently trying to build an experiment where I have 15 voice samples, each with 2 instances (e.g., voice_1_a and voice_1_b). I need to make it so that that each voice sample can be paired against the other voice sample (e.g., voice_1 plays and then after a slight delay voice_2 plays) but the voice sample instance that plays needs to be randomized (e.g., voice_1_b and voice_2_a), while at the same time eliminating the possibility of the opposing instance being played (e.g., voice_1_a and voice_2_b) for the rest of the sequence.

Any guidance or links to similar posts which have some answers would be much appreciated.

  • Hi,

I am not sure I fully get your experiment, so I can't really help you. Regardless, it sounds like you have slightly advanced requirements for randomization. In this case, I think it makes sense to implement the trial sequence in an inline_script, as you usually have more flexibility doing it that way.
