4 Channel audio output
in OpenSesame
Hi all,
As we were designing an experiment with OpenSesame, we were trying to play 4 output audio files, which consist of a 2 channel stereo sound, and 2 channels of a binary trigger (all sent through an external audio interface). While we were trying to define the audio output to be a 4 channel one, we found out that there is no such option in the back-end settings of OpenSesame, as it asks us the amount of channels in an inputbox, but seems to be unable to play more than 2.
Does anyone know if there's a way of bypassing this option and maybe implementing a code that allows a 4 channel output from OpenSesame?
Thanks,
Gal (LandauLab)

Hi Gal,
I think you can do it by directly using Python and (probably) the sounddevice library (https://python-sounddevice.readthedocs.io/en/0.3.7/). For example, this discussion here: https://discourse.psychopy.org/t/playing-quatrophonic-sound-4-0-surround-sound-in-psychopy/2179 seems to cover the same problem and offers a solution.
Does that help? Let us know if you need more help.
