osweb component won`t start on some computers/browsers
Hi,
I am running an experiment with Jatos and I have two components, the second one being an opensesame experiment. However, the second component does not start for some people. For example, it does not work for a friend in Chrome, but it does in Firefox. However, it works for most people. Anyway, I am losing a lot of data because of it and would like to know if anybody would know what the problem is.
The console shows:
DevTools failed to load SourceMap: Could not load content for http://161.35.67.210/publix/15/26/js/vendors~osweb.1.3.7.bundle.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE
There is no ad-blocker, the Chrome version is the latest etc.
:) Thank you

Hi,
I don't know what causes your problem that the second component doesn't start for some people, but I think your warning has nothing to do with it. This warning is just about that Chrome can't load the SourceMap for your JavaScript file (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Debugger/How_to/Use_a_source_map) - but this is only necessary for Chrome's DevTools and not for your experiment.
Best,
Kristian
Hi Kri,
thank you for your quick response. It shows a different thing error in Edge on the same pc.
:/
I don t know how informative this is, but here is the Chrome console.
I even tried to update osweb, opensesame and uploaded online the most simple --hello world-- experiment given in Opensesame and it still doesn t open in some of the browsers for some people. Weird :/
I want to second this - a small handful of people, so far all of them using recently updated Chrome, cannot load the OSWeb component. Came here to see whether anyone else had run into this issue.
Hi everyone, the pictures/screenshots are lost here due to a server crash and corrupt recent backups of this forum. Can you upload them again?
