How can you prevent participants from going "back"?

  Lets first define terms (they are just too blurry these days). Are these here what you mean?

  going back - using the browser back button to go to a previous page (previous component in your study) or, programatically, using jatos.startComponent to go to an previous component.

  go back to the beginning of the block - go to the first component of your study

  Hi Kristian,

  Apologies for the confusion and thank you for your quick response. Yes, that is what I mean. I would like to avoid participants being able to click on the "back" button in the browser during the experiment. The way the experiment is programmed, they appear to go back to the beginning of a block by clicking on the back button in the browser. This means they could simply redo parts of the experiment to get a better result. Is there a (relatively) simple way of achieving this?

  In that case, go to the Study Bar -> Properties and check the box that says 'Linear Study Flow'. That will only allow people going forwards. If they try to go backwards, they should get a pop-up warning them, but it's very important that you try this on different browsers, and make sure that it works as you expect. Different browsers differ in how customizable this message is.
