Video file crashes OpenSesame experiment

Hi there!

I'm trying to run an experiment on a tablet, but the OpenSesame Experiment Runtime app keeps crashing. I created a few simple "test" experiments, and the experiment works fine if it has only the audio files, but as soon as I add a video file (using media_player_mpy) the entire app crashes as soon as I try to begin the experiment.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

I'm using the Voyager 3 tablet, if that is relevant in any way.

Thanks!!

  • Hi @kk1703 ,

As far as I know, OpenSesame Runtime is not always working with (more recent versions of) Android anymore, and therefore Windows tablets are a better alternative (unless someone else has a suggestion?)

  • Hi @lvanderlinden , thanks for your reply!

I ordered this specific tablet because it is a little bit older since I had already encountered the problem of having a much newer Android tablet and the app not working at all. On this current tablet, I can actually run experiments without a problem, but just not when I add video files to the experiment. This is why I thought that maybe the problem might be in the experiment, rather than the app itself...
