Prompting Opensesame to ask session number same way as subject number

Hello,

I'm building a letter flanker task on opensesame for the first time.

My participants will come back twice to the lab and will have different versions of the task depending if it's the 1st or 2nd session.

I would like for opensesame to ask the session number in pretty much the same way it asks for subject number at the very beginning of the experiment, and before naming the corresponding .cvs file.

Can someone explain me/give me the script of how to do that?

The ultimate goal is to use the session number as a variable, so that I can tell opensesame which version of the task to use according to the session number.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Greta,

in my learning experiments I have the same thing.

    Two Options:

    1. easier Option: Make an instruction for partipants/experimenters to press a key on the keyboard. So they can press either 1 or 2. Then you can save this as your var.session_nr.
    2. Even better Option: see here
