Play Video on Sketchpad
Hey everyone.
I'm trying something rather complicated I think and I need your help here.
I want to implement a video on my sketchpad. I am aware that a sketchpad is a static object. However I read this discussion about this subject so there seems to be a way. Other than in the mentioned discussion I do not want to connect sound, picture and video, but just add the video to my existing sketchpad. Furthermore I'm not using keyboard but mouse response.
Does anyone have an idea how to get this working?

Hi Charlotte,
As you say sketchpads are static and you cannot use them to show videos. This does not mean you cannot show videos, you just need to use a different item/method to present videos.
This psychopy method seems to be an option. Have you tried it? It looks promising. You could also use the movie demo of psychopy as inspiration: https://github.com/psychopy/psychopy/blob/master/psychopy/demos/coder/stimuli/MovieStim2.py

This only makes it easier. If you leave out sound and images, you need to do less. One thing you should keep in mind though is, again, the static character of the sketchpad. In order to combine video and pictures, there is no way around updating the sketchpad on every refresh rate (otherwise the video would be forced to be static). Therefore, you have to add the picture to every frame of the sketchpad, otherwise. It would only show once in the beginning and then not anymore from then on. Do you know what I mean?
Have you gotten started on that? If so, do you have an error do you need help with? Probably it is best to just get started and see how far you get. Then we can help you better.
