Sound recorder: sound_start_recording and sound_stop_recording
Hi!
I am having issues with this sound_start_recording and sound_stop_recording plugins. I have downloaded them and placed both folders in the plugin folder inside the library folder. However, opensesame acts as if sound_start_recording and sound_stop_recording don't exist (they are not listed in the plug-in and extention menager, there are no new icons on the left side of the screen).
I have noticed that the sound recorder plugins haven't been updated since 2016 s I thought that I should download the older version of open sesame. I would rather not because I have most of the components of my experiment programmed already. Are there any other ways for me to be able to record audio?

Yes, you are right. The sound recording plugins are quite outdated. According to the documentation· it could work though. How have you installed it and which system are you running on?
I would also not recommend to install an older version of Opensesame, but instead use direct python coding to record audio. There are a couple of discussions on the forum that deal with sound recording. Here a few of them:
