Number of practice trials

Hi all,

I am currently creating an experiment in open sesame to measure participant's sustained attention. The practice trials and the experimental trials are identical, and, therefore, I have copied the block sequence of the practice loop into the block sequence of the experimental loop. I have 800 experimental trials in my experiment, so now I am facing the issue that my practice loop also consists of 800 trials.

I would like to lower the number of practice trials in the practice loop to 15, while keeping the number of trials in the experimental loop at 800. Is there anyone who can assist me in doing so?

Much appreciated!

Olaf

  • Hi @OlafBlankendaal ,

I think you could do the following:

    • Make an unlinked copy of your block loop
    • Insert a linked copy of the trial sequence
    • Do not change anything in the unlinked copy of the block loop, except that you set the repeat value to 0,018, which means that only 15 trials out of the 800 are (randomly - if you set the order to random) selected.

Let me know if this works for you.

    Cheers,

    Lotje
