Record audio response, rt and classification as right or wrong

Hello everyone!

I hope that you are all well and thriving! If you have some spare time here goes my question... So, I want to make an experiment in which pictures and sounds will be presented simultaneously on the screen and the subject has to give his oral response between 7 possible answers + the subject has only 2 sec each time to do so. Is there any possible way not only to record the answers but also for them to be categorized as right/wrong or no answer, and also keep track of their reaction time?

Thank you in advance!

  • Hi @Vasileia_chr ,

To record the vocal responses, you could have a look at the sound-recording plugins:

To determine whether the response is correct, I guess the easiest way is to have an external keyboard or response box for the experimenter who determines the accuracy with a button press. If you go for this option, you can set the timeout of this response item to 2000.

The other option is to listen to the sound files offline. There is no way to determine the accuracy of verbal responses online.

Also, determining the response time (the onset of the vocal response) is very tricky. Perhaps you can Google for voice keys for RT experiments.

    Hope this helps,

    Lotje
