Do JATOS links from cortex.jatos.org expire?

edited December 2020 in JATOS

hi

how long can we use Jatos link experiment for our paticipants?

Comments

  • The links don't expire. They will be good as long as your server is up. If you are using experiments.jatos.org, you can count on it being up at least until end of January.

    Elisa

  • thanks, Elisa. but when I get link from Jatos. org, it works only 12 hours. I don't know why.

  • You're probably using cortex.jatos.org

    That's our tryout server. (http://www.jatos.org/JATOS-Tryout-Server.html)

The server is intended only for people to see how jatos looks, and to click around. It's not meant to run experiments because it will reset (and delete any data collected) every 24 hours.

You should use another server instead, after checking with us that the expected traffic is within our budget. http://www.jatos.org/JATOS-server-during-the-COVID-19-pandemic.html

  • thanks, oops, I'm knowing now. ok, I made a mistake. I think I can online my experiment free.

    thanks for your help.🌸

  • Before you go on, could you please give us a bit more details about your experiment (following the "Playing rules" in the link I sent you). We need to know how much traffic to expect (number of participants at once, size of each dataset collected, whether you have audio/video files)

  • I have 70 participent and my experiments are CPT and Stroop and they hven't any audio or video files.

  • That all looks good, go ahead and good luck with your study :)

  • hi Lisa

    thanks with the best wishes

with this address👆️ could I online my experiment free?

  • hi Elisa

I think, I can understand what you say. and I online stroop task now.

    thanks for your help.

happy new year, with best wishes.🌺

    Hi Maryam,

This sounds like a frontend question. I.e. it has to do with javascript and the way you coded your experiment. Not with JATOS (the way you serve it). Again @lvanderlinden might be able to help.

Also, please keep in mind that the forum (as others) is meant to serve as a searchable reference for others potentially experiencing the same issues. So if you have a new, different question, please open a new thread. That will help us keep the forum clean.

  • hi Elisa

this is not a repeating question. it's my stroop task. I online my test some body do the test without any problem but some one has problem like what I say in my last post.I don't know why some my participants can't do the test and the others can.

    thanks for your attention.

    Maryam.

    best wishes🌸

  • Hi Maryam,

In order to help you we'd need more information about the problem:

    • What is the error message your participants get?
    • If you open your browser's developers tool console do you see more error messages?
    • Does the problem happens only in certain browsers?

    Best,

    Kristian

  • hi Kristian

for q1: I sent the picture of the messeage

q2: no, in my browser I don't have any problem.

q3: no, the problem seen in both chrome and firefox.

some of my participant can do the task , but some of them can't do the task and have this problem.

    thanks alot🌺

  • hi Kristian

some my participants can't do the test. would you like to help me?

  • hi

thanks , they done it on another computer.

    bye.

  • Hi Maryam,

I see you already solved the problem by moving to a different computer. Anyway the first 2 error messages indicate that the problem is on the 'client side' and that it has nothing to do with JATOS. I can see in the earlier posts that Elisa recommended already to post this question in the OSWeb forum. Did you try it there?

    Best,

    Kristian

  • hi, yes I done it. thanks for your help.🌺
