Linear Mixed Models Output interpretation
Hi, I've been trying to perform a linear mixed model analysis using JASP but I am having a hard time understanding the outputs in the "Fixed Effect Estimates."
For "object-grouping_MM", there are a total of 3 conditions, let's call them A, B, and C
For display-time_MM, there are a total of 3 conditions as well, let's call them 1, 2, and 3 for simplicity sake.
That said, I cannot figure out what the numbers/letters in the parentheses mean. I've tried to search online and on the information JASP provides but I am lost. I'd appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks,

Hi daftjasp,
the analysis uses sum contrast coding for categorical (nominal / factors, ordinal) predictors (in contrast to R which uses dummy encoding by default). We have also written a more detailed reply to a similar question, where we explain how to obtain differences between conditions that you might be interested in https://forum.cogsci.nl/discussion/6580/lmm-in-jasp-factor-coding
