Another "A problem occurred: Failed to transfer data"
Hello,
Our lab is currently using a MindProbe's JATOS server to run OSWeb experiments. Participants reported finishing the whole experiment, but upon inspecting their data, only part of it was saved. They also report receiving this following message - "A problem occurred: Failed to transfer data."
Since this is a MindProbe server I can't get access to its specifications. I can provide the following versions information:
JATOS 3.5.10.
OSWeb 1.3.13
Thanks,
Omer

Hi @OmerBirka ,
Thanks for reporting here! :) @elisa or @kri , could you perhaps help out?

Hi Omer,
I can have a look in mindprobe's JATOS. Can you give me the study ID and the rough time when those participants run the study? And if you have the study result IDs (SRID) then it's even easier for me to locate them in JATOS' log. You can find those in the your study's result page: each result has a study result ID.
Best,
Kristian
Hi Kristian,
Thank you for having a look.
The study ID is 189 (not sure what's that, but UUID is ccc317ea-71e0-4d0f-b60a-0df4670675dd).
These are the participants who have completed the study but their data failed to (fully) transfer:
(Result ID, Start Time, Last Seen, Duration).
Let me know if there's any other information I can provide.
Thanks again,
Omer
Hi Omer!
Your study should work now on jatos.mindprobe.eu.
The problem was that the database's character set couldn't handle certain Unicode characters, in your case emojis. I changed the database's character set. It can handle emojis now.
Best,
Kristian
Hey Kristian!
It works! Hallelujah. Wouldn't have guessed that the emojis were causing this.
Thank you very much,
Omer
