Mousetrap-os version 2.0.0 released
Dear all,
we just wanted to let you know that we recently released a new version of the mousetrap plugin for OpenSesame. We summarized all changes in the release notes.
The most important change is that it is now much easier to define buttons in the mousetrap_response item - thanks to the introduction of named sketchpad elements in OpenSesame. (Note: this features has been around for some time now in the development version of mousetrap.) A detailed description can be found in the online documentation.
We also published a tutorial in a book chapter that describes this process (among other things):
Kieslich, P. J., Henninger, F., Wulff, D. U., Haslbeck, J. M. B., & Schulte-Mecklenbeck, M. (2019). Mouse-tracking: A practical guide to implementation and analysis. In M. Schulte-Mecklenbeck, A. Kühberger, & J. G. Johnson (Eds.), A Handbook of Process Tracing Methods (pp. 111-130). New York, NY: Routledge. (preprint)
The newest version of the mousetrap plugin is now available from PyPI, which makes the installation procedure even easier. Please make sure to use the mousetrap plugin with OpenSesame 3.2.0 or later. We recommend using it with the most recent version of OpenSesame (currently, this is version 3.2.8).
If you have any questions or feedback, please let us know.
Best,
Pascal

Hi Pascal,
Assuming mousetrap isn't OSweb ready yet, are there any plans for a javascript version? I'd say this kind of tool is especially useful in online experiments.
Regards,
Jasper
My apologies. I see this question has already been asked and answered.
Jasper
Hi Jasper,
no worries! As discussed, we currently do not have a version of the mousetrap plugin for OSWeb.
However, regarding a JavaScript version: Felix' work on the mousetrap-web plugin for the lab.js experiment builder has progressed quite a bit (https://github.com/FelixHenninger/mousetrap-web) and a beta version is already integrated into the lab.js builder. However, further questions in this regard are best addressed to Felix directly (@mezzopiano), probably even better in the lab.js slack (https://lab.js.org/resources/support/).
Best,
Pascal
