Sound quality deteriorates for the same sound files

Hi,

I am trying to run an AXB experiment which presents 3 sound files and requires a response from the participants. However, the same set of sound files which play perfectly well in the first block, deteriorate in quality (become glitched/scratchy) towards the end of the second block. I poked around with the sound buffer but that did not work. I carried out the same experiment some months ago and it was even longer in duration than the present experiment, still it did not pose this issue. Any suggestion on fixing this issue is much appreciated.

  • Hi,

Does the problem occur when testing online? Have you checked several browsers? It sounds like a problem that is not primarily related to Openesame, but rather the infrastructure underneath. Unfortunately, I can't really help you with this issue, as I have not much experience with OSweb and even less with sound-specific problems in browsers.

  • Hello! Yes, this problem occurs while testing online and on all browsers. I also sent it to a participant after uploading the experiment to Jatos and they reported the same issue.
