Jatos https without domain name

Hi!

I'm currently trying to use a safe connection with JATOS. We have a public IP but we don't have a domain name. Is it possible to run JATOS as https (with Apache or Nginx) without a domain name?

    Hi!

    Although they say it's possible I've never seen a server actually doing it. It's very unusual. You have to get a certificate on your IP though. Then JATOS doesn't care for it and as far as I know Nginx/Apache too. I would not recommend it. Can't you get a domain from the institute/company that hosts your server?

    We can request a domain from our university, but we fear it might take too much time. Seems we'll have to!
