No Audio on Safari Browser

Hi everyone,

I have an OS experiment which I will collect data online. The experiment contains both visual and audio (in .ogg format) stimuli.

It works perfectly on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. But pilot participants said that there was no voice on Safari browser. (No error messages, though. The experiment ended without any error as if there was no audio stimuli at all).

Is there a possibility that any of you might have a similar experience? If you know some settings that I need to do in advance (or that the participants need to do while they are on Safari), I would be really glad to hear!

Thank you so much!

Best,

Pinar

  • Hi again,

I just want to add that I converted all my audio stimuli to .wav format and tried, but nothing changed. No voice on Safari.

I'd be really glad if any of you has an idea. Thanks so much!

  • Hi @pinarke ,

Perhals @Daniel could have a look at you question?

  • Hi all,

This is because Safari's stricter security settings. There are some other posts about this on the forum, and sadly there is no easy way to currently remedy this.

  • Hi @Daniel ,

If there is no easy way, I think recommending participants to use other browsers would be safer, thanks for your answer!

And thanks @lvanderlinden for your attention.

    Best,
