JATOS files too heavy

Hi,

I am trying to upload my experiment but I have 6 mp4 files each weighing about 400 mb. JATOS won't let me export the experiment, and I think there is also a problem importing. Is there any way around this?

Thanks

  • Hi,

Are you talking about exporting the study itself - or about the study results? And another question: Do you use Mindprobe's JATOS or your own?

  • Exporting the study itself. And I'm using Mindprobe

  • Why do you want to export the study itself from Mindprobe? I'm just curious. Usually export the study from their local JATOS and import into their remote JATOS (e.g. Mindprobe).

But anyway, you successfully imported your study to Mindprobe and now you want to export it again? What error message, if at all, do you get? Can you please try with Chrome? It's better with handling larger downloads.

  • Sorry, I must have been unclear. I am trying to export the study for the first time from the local JATOS and import it to Mindprobe. I am not getting an error message, but the study won't export (it loaded for above three hours before I gave up)

  • Hi Miriam,

    That makes more sense.

Could you try it with Chrome. Chrome handles memory better when downloading and if your computer is low in memory this can be the crucial point.

If Chrome doesn't help: What's in your logs? Any errors or exceptions? You can find the logs in your JATOS installation folder in logs/application.log.

  • Hi,

Tried on Chrome, now it seems to be downloading the zip as empty text file. This is happening only with this large experiment and not with others on the computer.

    Thanks,

    Miriam

  • Hi Miriam,

Sorry about replying so late, I wasn't notified of your answer (like this forum usually does). Is your problem solved by now? And if not, could you have a look in your logs?

    Best,

    Kristian
