sensitivity of voicekey

Dear colleges,

I am recently using voice key as a response in my experiment under the guidance of this: https://forum.cogsci.nl/index.php?p=/discussion/1772/

And the code really worked. However, it seems that the voicekey not only detect voice but also detect the movement of mouse. that is, whenever a mouse move, the voicekey detect it as a response. Does any one meet with the same problem? Why this happens? It's really weird.

Best,

Olivia

  • Hi Olivia,

Seems like the threshold is a little off. These kind of things are hard to provide perfect default values for, because every setup is a bit different (mic's have different gains, etc.).

In any case, you need to adjust the threshold (increasing it). What a good value might be, you need to find out for yourself. Maybe it is wise to use some sort of calibration to adjust the threshold for each subject?

    Hope this helps.

  • Dear Eduard,

Thank you for your explanation! But I tested that the voicekey detects the movement of mouse not the sound of movement of a mouse...

  • That sounds superweird. Can you share the experiment here? I would like to try it.
