Display issue - blurry text
Hi,
I have recently faced a problem with the display setting in OpenSesame. Sometimes, the text is displayed with a "blur", like here on the "u" of "paused" or the "b" of "been" :
But sometimes not :
Is this problem related to the Grid set in Sketchpad ?
My settings:
Resolution: 1024*768
Foreground: #000000
Background: #d0d0d0
Font: mono (for the example I used different fonts)
Font size: 32px
Thank you for your help !

Also, I use the backend Psycho.
Hi @Aurélien,
I'm no expert on this type of issues, but until some other users comments, here's my thinking...
It looks as if it might have to do with the rescaling of graphics, type of font used and/or the scaling option within Windows (if you're using Windows). Is the resolution you listed that of your monitor or that of your task? try setting the experiment's resolution to the same resolution as your monitor's setting to see if that helps. Change the font to a different onw to see if that makes a difference. If these fail, try setting your scaling in Windows to 100% to see if that helps. If that font issue is something you noticed in other applications within Windows (e.g., in your navigator), you might want to check this out too: https://www.boxaid.com/blog/how-to-fix-jagged-poor-quality-fonts-or-text-on-windows/
Hope this helps.
Fabrice.
Hi Fab,
Thank you for you response and advises.
Unfortunately, this poor quality font is found on different screens of different sizes.
I tried to fix it using the link you provide but it does not work.
I will eventually try playing with different font sizes and resolutions.
If I find something, I will let you know.
@Aurélien Have you found a solution?
Unfortunately, i have exactly the same problem and none of the above described possibilities worked :(
Update: I solved it. Try to change your backend. I had trouble with psycho and now with xpyriment it works :)
@tocb you are right, It does work on xpyriment, thank you ! So there is something wrong with psycho, which is annoying because It has some interesting features.
