Two-ways Friedman test

Hi everybody,

I saw that in JASP you can perform the Friedman test as a two-ways method by adding the corresponding variables to the input data.

Since the Friedman test is only a one-way method I was wondering how can JASP perform a "two-ways Friedman test". Is it by regrouping the data ?

  • Hi @MassMobile ,

Yes, it works through regrouping, although I do not think this should be warranted and actually implemented a check recently to limit the application of the Friedman test, since this could be misleading. In the future we want to implement a more suitable version of the Friedman test that can be used in two-way designs (I think there exist some extensions of the original test that allow this now).

    Kind regards,

    Johnny
