Invalid z_index for sketchpad element

Hello,

An error appeared during simple edition activity on an experiment and I was not able to locate the problem. I am also confused by the 'RuntimeError' statement in the debug window. Could you please orient my debugging ? The experiment does not contain any special or tricky feature, it worked fine just before minor modifications have been made, with no change on the structure itself. Little changes that I don't even remember (cosmetic changes).

Thanks in advance,

Gérard

  • Hi @gerhono,

Difficult to tell without knowing more about your task. Could you upload your task to this forum?

Have you checked the script of the sketchpad in question to check what value the z-index property is set to? From the error message you used as a title for your post, the problem seems to originate there...

If you post your task, I can have a look and see if I can spot the issue.

    Best,

    Fabrice.

  • Hello Fabrice,

Thank you for your reply. I finally discovered that the sketchpad which produced the error was obviously damaged (although it was showing correctly) because the problem was solved when I recreated it completely. Thank you for your advise.

  • Hello,

As a complement of information: you are right about the origin of the error. The z-index property was set to 0s, as reported by the error message, in place of just 0. I noticed that it happened another time while replacing an image with another one by simply changing the name of the image in the image script. So I guess that this error may happen during the recompiling of the script by the system. It does not happen every time (I made about 10 replacements, and got only one error). I hope this information can be useful.

    Cheers,

    Gérard
