contrast effect size calculate

Hi,

I conducted a 2x2 mixed ANOVA

(1- within subject with 2 measure, 2- between subject with 2 groups)

I have 2 planned comparisons that i'm trying to find their effect size in JASP but only able to do so in post-hoc.

thank you for your help!

  • Hi Daniela,

I'm forwarding your email, but the person in charge of this analysis has just gone on vacation so responding might be a little more slow.

  • Hi E.J. thank you for responding.

is there an answer? or an estimated date for responding?

    thank you again,

  • Hi Daniela,

I think this may take another 10 days or so.

    Cheers,

  • Hi,

I too am waiting for this. I also found a way, I think, to calculate these by hand given what JASP gives us. You can look at chapter 10 (and specifically page 246) in Myers, J. L., Well, A. D., & Lorch Jr, R. F. (2013). Research design and statistical analysis : third edition (3rd ed.). Taylor and Francis. I am eager to see if they match!

  • Hi @Daniela3h and @davidwidman ,

Unfortunately this feature is not included in the contrast analysis yet, but I will look into implementing this relatively soon. In the meantime, you could look into the source provided by David, or try to conduct a post hoc test and take the effect size from there. The effect sizes themselves should be identical (it would be the confidence interval and p-values that are corrected for multiplicity).

    Kind regards,

    Johnny
