Significant Delay°
My stimuli are videos and photos, the videos are supposed to stop at a very specific point in time. Using JATOS and Mindprobe I am experiencing different errors. I am eternally grateful to any help on any of these as soon as possible (testing the day after tomorrow!!!)!
- The Mindprobe is not accessing the directory? I have to export the study I create on JATOS as a .jzip and import in Mindprobe, but then I cannot change any files in the directory. That's annoying, but not the biggest problem.
- When running on JATOS the first 0.25 seconds of the videos are not being shown
- When running on Mindprobe, the videos take forever to load, are slower, photos shown afterwards also take minutes to load and are buggy
I have tried reducing the total size by reducing the number of stimuli. The videos are in total 1.25 seconds at 1080p (around 1,4mb per video). Any help?
Thank you in advance

Hi!
I'm not sure I can be of much help with your problem. Studies can behave differently on a local JATOS than on a remote one (e.g. Mindprobe), just because of normal network behavior, especially if you have large media files. Therefore it's always important to not only test locally but only on a real Internet JATOS server.
3) That said it's still strange that your pictures take minutes to load. I guess your pictures have a normal size (a couple 100kB). They shouldn't take that long to load on Mindprobe. I actually admin the server there and I don't see any overload there recently. I guess something else is going wrong there. But since I can't see the JS I can't tell. Are there any errors in the browsers console? You can also try to pre-load your media files all in the beginning of the study - that way the study itself can run smoothly.

1) I understand and currently there is no way around it. Currently you have to export your study from your local JATOS (as a jzip) and import it to your remote JATOS. In the future we might add some git integration or an API that can speed up the synchronization of studies among JATOS instances.
Best,
