SSH access issue after setting up Apache for Jatos
Hi,
I set up apache as a proxy with encryption (HTTPS) using the configuration from the website and linked it to my domain name. Everything worked well as I could access my jatos through the correct link.
However, the next morning when I wanted to access my server (Ubuntu 20.04) using ssh putty (which I had done hundreds of times beforehand), it does not work meaning I get a blank black screen, with the block cursor, without login prompt, getting an error message after 20 sec stating "Network error: Connection timed out".
Considering I did not change anything related to port 22 or the firewall settings; and only changed the apache configuration file since the last time I connected successfully, I was wondering if you thought the issue could come from the redirections of port 80/443? I do not think putty is the problem as I can remotely connect to another server.
Or is there anything else that you could maybe suggest?
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I can't imagine a scenario where Apache interferes with ssh and port 22 unless you told Apache to listen to port 22 (what would be unusual). Stupid question: are you sure the server is actually up? Or did you maybe change something in Ubuntu's firewall ufw?
Best,
Kristian
Hi Kristian,
Thank you for your answer, this is what I thought but I was pretty desperate to find a solution. I now know that I cannot access it due to several cyberattacks that have been carried out on universities in German-speaking countries in recent weeks, resulting in the suspension of their IT services!
Thanks.
