Jatox Online Experiment- Response time problem

Hi everyone,

I have converted my OpenSesame experiment to Jatox online. I have run a test to check if everything works. When I looked at the data from Jatox, I have realized that it does not save 'response time' in the same way as OpenSesame. In offline version, I could get all numbers with comas but Jatox gives numbers without comma. Since my experiment is mainly based on reaction time, I need precise numbers. Also, some spots are blank in Jatos for some reason that I could not figure out. Did I make a mistake and how can I solve this problem? You can check sample data results for the same variable from Opensesame and Jatos in pictures. Thank you in advance.

    Hi Ipek,

    1. To me it looks like the JATOS output is correct, whereas in the offline output the column separation did not work properly. This is because response times should by definition be round numbers, without decimals. (They are in ms.) The commas that you see in those cells are therefore actually column separators.
    2. The empty cells simply mean that during first couple of cycles in which the logger file was run, the corresponding variable did not exist yet. For example, the response times only exist after the very first response is collected.

    If you want us to have a closer look, feel free to upload the output files. But for now, just assume that the JATOS output is the correct one.
