Multicollinearity SEM

Hey guys,

I am currently setting up a structural equation model in JASP and need to test if multicollinearity exists. Is there a way to show me the VIF in SEM? What are the alternatives?

Thanks a lot in advance!

  • As far as I know, there is no function to report the VIF in lavaan. You could save the latent factor scores (or use a summed scale as a proxy), run a linear regression, and then ask for the VIF for each endogenous variable and its predictors. It's not a perfect solution as the saved factor scores, but should indicate any issues with multicollinearity.
