JATOS upgrade - fate of URLs?
I'm running a 3.6.1 install on a server that several groups are using. I know one of the nice features of 3.7.1 is that we get nicer links that don't expose so much info. That's nice, but:
Q: Will all my old links still work? So, for active studies, do I need to regenerate links or will they still resolve and work just fine?
I think so (modulo the ?pre bit), but before I upset a lot of people, I wanted to ask directly ;)

Hi Craig,
Yes, your old links that you handed out to your participants (e.g. https://my.jatos.server/publix/1/start?batchId=1&personalSingleWorkerId=123) will still work; They will be translated internally by JATOS into the new format (e.g. https://my.jatos.server/publix/q75bwQyqyi8).
And the ?pre URL query parameter won't work anymore. This feature moved to the Study Properties, where it is a simple checkbox (https://www.jatos.org/Restricting-study-flow.html#allow-preview).
But I would recommend doing an backup of your current JATOS before doing an update (including the database and study_assets_root folder and if you have study_logs folder and result_uploads folder).
Best,
Kristian
