JASP frequentist statistics updates
Hi,
I just wanted to check about module updates. I perceive that JASP do many updates and developments on Bayesian statistics modules but much less on frequentist modules. Is this intentional? If that is the case I think it is sad 😢.

This is not an explicit strategy, and moreover, I am not sure this perception is correct. For instance, the Time Series module, the Learn Stats module, the Acceptance Sampling, and the Quality Control modules are all 100% frequentist, and they have either been recently added or undergoing active development. Also, we have a PROCESS module waiting in the wings that is 100% frequentist as well (teaser post: https://jasp-stats.org/2023/07/27/conditional-process-models/). It is true that some team members work more on Bayesian methods (for instance as related to Bayesian meta-analyses) but that happens because they are combining their research with contributions to JASP. I think the real issue is that we simply have a lot on our plate :-) I would love to be able to hire more people and speed up the development. We are currently setting up a Cooperative to make that happen: see https://jasp-stats.org/2023/10/02/new-the-jasp-cooperative/. If Karolinska becomes a partner the feature requests automatically get higher priority :-)
Cheers,

Thanks E.J.
I will definitively contact relevant people at KI to investigate the possibilities for the university to become a partner🤪..
All the best
