Please HELP: Failed to Open A File in JASP

Dear all,

I analyzed dataset using JASP 0.18.1 version without any problem. I save it as a file with .jasp format. My student who continue the data analysis then downloaded the file in her laptop with JASP 0.16.4 version.

However, she could not open the file and got this message.

I suggested her to install JASP 0.18.1. After she installed 0.18.1 version, she even could not open any file in JASP.

She uninstalled 0.18.1 version and downgraded to install 17.3.0 but the file still could not be opened. She attempted to install 0.16.4. version but still the same result.

So she cannot use JASP in her laptop and we use JASP in all teaching and research activities.

This is my first time to experience this kind of problem.

Would you please help us for this matter? I hope at least my student can use JASP again in her laptop.

Thanks very much.

  • We're eager to solve this, but this is an issue for our GitHub page, where you'll be in direct contact with our programming team (for details see https://jasp-stats.org/2018/03/29/request-feature-report-bug-jasp/). I'll attend them to the Forum post regardless.

    Cheers,

    E.J.

  • Hey

The problem here is that we changed fileformats for 0.18.1 and they cannot be openend in older versions.

However, the problem here seems to be that the new version apparently cannot open files.

This is something we can look at and make sure she can use the up-to-date version of JASP.

As EJ mentioned, we will be much better able to help you out if you (or preferably the student) opens a bugreport so if slots into our systems.

  • Many thanks for your prompt reply. My student has reported on GitHub.  https://github.com/jasp-stats/jasp-issues/issues/2372

Right now, she can use 0.16.4 version but sometimes it is still lagging. Many thanks.
