Using of the filter with empty value condition

Hello !

I've got a problem with the filter of my data set. I've got a variable column with 3 conditions, let's say A and B for two of them, and the last one is an empty value condition (there is anything written in the cell). My problem is that when I try to keep only the B and empty value conditions by filtering with the click filter and unselecting the A condition, or when I try some operations by writing " variableX unequal to A condition " it unselects the A condition but also the empty value condition in both cases, which I don't want !

I think it's probably because it's an empty value condition but I don't understand why because it does the same when I click to unselect condition B (it unselects condition B and empty value condition).

Another problem is that the data set comes from a spss file and I don't have access to the original data file so I don't know if I can rename the empty value condition by giving it a name if the emptyness is the problem, without taping all the data in JASP (I've got a lot of cells..)

Thanks a lot for reading me and by advance for your help. If you need more information don't hesitate to ask me.

Best,

Augustin

  • Hey Augustin

There is a bug in JASP at the moment that might be causing your issue, see https://github.com/jasp-stats/jasp-issues/issues/2376

If that doesnt sound like your problem I would suggest you make an issue there because I only sporadically check this forum.

  • Hey Joris,

Thanks a lot for your answer ! I found another solution : my team gave me another classification of the data set to overcome this problem.

    Cheers,

    Augustin
