Repeated measures MANOVA?

Dear JASP user,

I can't find a way to do the following analysis : We measure 3 differents and indépendants psychological scales (Psy1, Psy2, Psy3) in 3 different time (T1,T2,T3) in a serie of subjects (half men / half women)

I can test the time effect in one scale (Psy_1) using a repeated mesure ANOVA (comparing Psy1_T1, Psy1_T2, Psy1_T3 fore exemple) but can i have more than 1 variables in my repeated measures.

I would like to test if, across scale, there is a effect of time (MANOVA repeated-measure).

  • Hi, I'm trying to work out how to do a repeated measures MANOVA, but I'm baffled by how to enter the data on the form. I've looked at various videos, none of which have shown me what I need to know (or quite possibly, I don't understand what they're saying.) Here's my study: I'd appreciate advice on which things to put in which boxes!


    Indeependent Variables: I have three groups of participants, each of which were randomly assigned to one of three interventions.

    It's a pre-post design, so two measurements over time

    DVs: I have 5 outcome measures, (continuous)

  • Pretty sure you can't do RM manova in JASP currently. I'm not on my computer right now--is there a way to specify the error term manually in the MANOVA procedure? Is there a box for random factors? If yes to one of these two questions, you might be able to trick JASP into producing a RM manova

  • As an alternative, simplified approach, I would just do a MANOVA on change scores.

    Each of the five DV's would be transformed to a change score (i.e., post-minus-pre difference score). Thus the design would be a one-factor MANOVA with group (Group A, Group B, Group C) as the factor and the five changes scores as the dependent variables.
