two way repeated measures ANOVA
I have two groups of students and I am assessing a measure of attention pre-post a course, have I set this up correctly to run a two way repeated measures ANOVA?
Thanks,
Erin

Hi. I think, no: When multiple numbers appear on the same row, they should belong to the same participant rather than to different participants. For repeated measures ANOVA, the data should be organized like this . . .

Thanks! That's what I wasn't sure about, is this correct? Student category is the between subject factor?
Yes, that seems correct.

For another measure I would like to use a nonparametric test, when I select this option it is unable to complete the test, any ideas?
Rather than being unable to complete the non-parametric test, it should generate an error message (it does for me). That's because, while Friedman's test is applicable to a single-factor repeated-measures ANOVA, it's not applicable to any other type of ANOVA. There's no broadly accepted, non-parametric test for a two-factor ANOVA. If you must have a non-parametric test, you could transform your data to difference-scores (one difference per person). Then you would have a simple, two-group design that could be analyzed by means of t test and/or an non-parametric, Mann-Whitney U test.

Thank you!
