JASP meta-analysis (effect size)
Hi there,
Hope somebody can help, please!
I've run a meta-analysis in JASP and although I can see the effect size (with 95% CI) I can't tell what effect size is reported? Is it Cohen's d, Hedge's g, r2 ??
Any help with this will be very gratefully received! Thanks in advance

Just sending further info in case this flags my post with anyone who might have an answer...
Is it fair to say something along the lines of, the weighted average of study specific effect sizes was 0.24 [95%CI 0.10, 0.39]
Or would I need to specify what the effect size is (I.e. is it Cohen's d, Hedge' g, etc)?
Also, how do I interpret the effect size? What would be the threshold for defining something as small, medium, and large?
Many thanks in advance for any help!
Hi Katie,
The resulting effect size measure is solely determined by the input. In other words, if you use Cohen's d as the input, the output is going to be on Cohen's d again. If you use correlations as the input, the output is a correlation (I would highly recommend transforming correlation coefficients into Fisher's z before conducting the analysis though).
Hope this helps!
