Bayesian Wilcoxon signed rank test

Dear all,

I am looking for a description of the implementation of the Bayesian Wilcoxon signed rank test in JASP. Is it the one described in this paper:

J. van Doorn, A. Ly, M. Marsman & E.-J. Wagenmakers (2020) Bayesian rankbased hypothesis testing for the rank sum test, the signed rank test, and Spearman's ρ, Journal of Applied Statistics, 47:16, 2984-3006, DOI: 10.1080/02664763.2019.1709053.

Thank you,

Carsten.

  • Hi Carsten,

You can download JASP - the analysis from that paper is available under "T-Tests" -> "Bayesian Paired Samples T-Test" and "Bayesian One Sample T-Test", depending on your research scenario.

    Cheers

  • Many thanks Johnny for the prompt reply.

Maybe I misunderstand your answer but I am interested in understanding the methodological details of the Bayesian Wilcoxon signed rank test that is implemented in JASP. Is the signed-rank test implementation in JASP using the method described in van Doorn et al. 2020 (ref above).

    Carsten.

  • Hi Carsten,

Ah, sorry! Yes, the analysis in JASP matches the method described in the paper. I see now that it is not included in the citations/helpfile, so I will make sure to add it.

    Cheers

    Johnny
