Inquiry Regarding Type 1 Gauge Study

I am writing to inquire about a specific feature in the Type 1 Gauge Study.

I am interested in conducting an analysis where I only input the lower specification limit, instead of the full range of tolerance.

I was wondering if this feature is available in the current version of the software.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  • Hello,

I've looked into this and I believe that it does not matter on which side of the reference value your limits are located. That is, if you have a reference value = 0, a LCL = -1 and an UCL = 1, your tolerance range equals 2. If you only have a reference value = 0 and an LCL = -1, your tolerance range is simply halved, so you set the tolerance range to 1.

Let me know if you think I am mistaken and I will have another look.

If you're referring to the Run chart, it is unfortunately not possible to display only one-sided tolerance limits. It might make sense to add an option to choose for the chart on which side (lower/upper/both) the tolerance range should fall, but I believe for the tables it does not matter.

    Best,

    Jonas
