Running opensesame on an android tablet

Hello

I am looking for a way to run opensesame on a tablet.

The only ones I can get in a resonable price range (I need a lot) run android.

is there a way it would work? for example, with runtime?

I also saw that I install apps to get a Linux-like desktop environment on top of Android.

Would it work?

Thanks!

  • Hi @labovich,

As far as I know the Android deployment of Open Sesam ended a while back due changes in third party software and it is no longer possible to run Open Sesame on Android. However, you could program your task with OSWeb, export it as a JATOS experiment and run it from a JATOS server. Provided that your tablets are connected to the internet, your experiment could then run inside a browser. Note however that OSWeb does not support all the functionalities of Open Sesame (see https://osdoc.cogsci.nl/4.0/manual/osweb/osweb/).

    Best,

    Fabrice.

  • Hi Fabrice

    Thank you!

I was thinking about it, but I need to run the study in schools, and I cannot count on a stable internet connection. This is why I need to run something offline...

  • So is there no way to run Open Sesam on Android?
