issues with JATOS cookies

Hi everyone,

semi-frequently when I test run my components whether locally or on mindprobe it asks whether cookies are allowed in the browser (firefox) with an error in the console saying jatos cookies id 1, 2 or 6 are outdated, is this a local issue for me or is it likely to happen to other participants running the same experiment?

hopefully someone can help,

thank you,

Adrien

  • Hi Adrien,

I can't remember ever seeing such an error in the browser console. Can you post a screenshot or copy-past it here? Which study are you running? Maybe it's something the study's code is doing?

    Best,

    Kristian

  • Hi Kris,

this is one of the messages,

I will also send you the console screenshot when I manage to reproduce the error :)

  • Hi Adrien,

Ah, this error message. The ID cookies are used to pass on information quickly between JATOS server and the browser running the study. This error can happen if you use multiple JATOS instances locally (or connect JATOS to multiple databases). In this case the ID cookie refers to a study run (with a study result ID) that does not exist in this particular JATOS instance (and it's database). This should only happen locally and I would worry if this happens with Mindprobe. Are you sure you have encountered this with Mindprobe? It should not occur with your participants.

    Best,

    Kristian

  • Thanks a lot Kris,

everything on that end specifically seems to be working, however it now appears that mindprobe is down, I get this is if I try to login or access a study (502 Bad Gateway)

  • Mindprobe works again now

  • Yes, Mindprobe was down yesterday for circa 2 h. The server had some problems with a wrong database config and some memory issues. It's up and working again.
