Default estimator in CFA analysis ?

In confirmatory factor analysis, the estimator is now set to Default (in the Advanced menu), whereas it was previously set to ML. What does the Default estimator correspond to?

  • Hi Dimitrib,

You will see that there are a huge number of advanced estimation options for estimators as well as the analysis software that you would like the CFA in jasp to mimic. The default is to mimic the R package lavaan. The default estimator of the package is maximum likelihood estimation when all variables are continuous, so says the documentation here. Estimators and more – lavaan.org That is to say that the default and ML are the same thing. Does that clarify?
