5-point likert scale data coming out as (e.g.) 3-point on graphs etc if some choices not selected

Strongly disagree to strongly agree.

So if only:

3 neither agree nor disagree/ 4 agree/ 5 strongly agree

are selected in the survey, then 1 strongly disagree and 2 disagree do not appear on the graphs or diverging stacked bar chart. This then looks like a 3-point scale. (Descriptive statistics)

I need to have all five points shown - it needs to be clear that it’s a 5-point scale and that some options weren’t selected by anyone.

I’m uploading to Jasp from Excel.

Thank you!

  • I should add my question - I can’t find a way to edit.

How can I fix this? I’m very, very new to everything …

  • Hmm that's interesting. I am not sure and will bring this to the attention of a few team members who might know. If it takes too long you can also post this on our GitHub page, so you have the attention of the programming team...
