[solved] Failed to connect Eyelink

edited July 2014 in OpenSesame

Hi,
For some reason when I try to run my experiment via open sesame and Eyelink 1000, it says "Failed to connect to the tracker: global name 'pylink' is not defined. Any ideas why it is happening? For my eyelink_calibrate I have "Tracker attached" option set to YES.

    Hi Olya,

How is the experiment set up? Are you using the EyeLink plug-ins, or an inline_script to do the tracking? Also: is the eyelink_calibrate the first of your EyeLink plug-ins, and is it located at the start of your experiment (that is: within the 'experiment' sequence)?

    Best,

    Edwin

    Hi Edwin,
I am using the plug-ins. Yes, the eyelink_calibrate seems to be in the right place. I am attaching a photo if you could take a look!
    Thank you,
    Olya

    Hi Olya,

The experiment order seems correct, so that shouldn't be a problem. Are you running OpenSesame from source? Or are you using the standalone version? If the latter is the case, please look at these instructions to configure OpenSesame to allow communication with the EyeLink PC.

    Good luck!
