[open] Storage of form variables

edited March 2015 in OpenSesame

Hi together,

recently I set up a short experiment to test the software, and I tried to use the form items (form_text_input and form_multiple_choice) as well as the script you used in the APS tutorial. But when I ran a test user, I couldnt find the inputs of the form items in the output csv-file, and regarding the script from the tutorial, the variable "age" just had nothing in it, and the "gender" and "handedness" variables just had "no" stored in them.

Did I overlook a mistake, or do I have to use a logger or something?

Thanks for the help!

    Hi,

Could you provide more information on the structure of your experiment? For example, have you included a logger after the forms? Without the logger nothing is written to the file.
If you did, are other cells in the csv file filled properly? Any screenshots are welcome, you can also share your experiment if you like.

    Best,

    Eduard

    Hi Eduard,

indeed I didnt include a logger. But after I did, my csv. file kind of got messed up. There is now a new row of variable names, followed by my form responses. I will attach the experiment and a test user file in this post (most of it is in german, but that shouldnt be a problem I guess, otherwise I will glady translate all the text, if that will help you with my problem).

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I can't open your files. I only get redirected to filedropper's startpage. Can you try uploading it again?

    Thanks,

    Eduard

    Hi,

Yes it worked and I think I can see what is happening here. You need to include another logger in the experimental/practice loop, with which you save the actual reaction times and responses. I don't really know, why the output looks like it does, but after adding this additional logger, it looked like I think you want it to.
Try it and if you still have some issues, let us know.

    Good luck,

    Eduard
