[solved] dry clicks instead of sound samples

edited April 2015 in OpenSesame

I am currently trying to programm an oddball-like experiment with 75ms sound samples. When I run the experiment I only hear dry clicks and not my sound samples. My samples have a sampling rate of 48000Hz, but 44100Hz also does not seem to work.
Anyone any ideas on what is going wrong?

Thanks!

    Hi Kim,

I'm not that familiar with sound samples, but I'm wondering what would happen if you take longer sound samples? (For instance insert a 250ms beep instead of the samples you used). If you still get a dry click, then at least we know the problem is not in your sound samples. It is a given that alot of sound files may strike one as 'dry clicks' when they are very short ; I just wanted to verify that this is not the essence of your problem.

    Cheers,

    Hi Josh,

Thanks, but I found the problem.
I found out afterwards that OS does not support higher bit depth than 16. After that all was fine. I am hoping that more settings will be available in the future.

    Cheers,
    Kim
